I recently launched a new website which is all about building readership of your blog. It is called Fair Review
The main hub of the site is a directory which contains listings for everybody who has reviewed a blog previously. To get into the directory, simply review a blog already there, linking to the blog you're reviewing, a post on the blog you are reviewing, and any page on the Fair Review site, submit your request to join, and then you will be included!
Anyway, that's the premise. Hopefully it will be successful, and bring you some success should you participate. Let me know what you think, anyway!
Hey Rhys, I took a look at Fair Review, it's a fantastic concept.
There is definitely a market for a review site like this. The only major issue I could see arising is how to maintain the quality of the reviews. A solution could be for example - if a voting system were implemented, where you could only be reviewed by a blogger with the same rating as you or below. (The people you reviewed would rate your reviews).
I can see this getting really big, it’s a timeless idea, people always want feedback in the form of a review, good luck.
My main concern is maintain the quality of the database, rather than the quality of the reviews. Of course, quality of the reviews is important, but I feel that if you write a shoddy review about somebody, they're less likely to visit/comment/trackback, therefore you have missed an opportunity.
Of course, I moderate all the links to be put into the directory. If it appears copied, or the guy just didn't care, or the review is deleted, I just include them.
